Noosa Food and Wine Festival 2017
19th – 21st May 2017
For Australian foodies, there are few events on the calendar more exciting than the annual Noosa Food and Wine Festival.
Each year, the festival draws an all-star cast of Australia’s finest chefs, as well as large crowds eager to enjoy exceptional cuisine in breathtaking surrounds.
Over three days in May, Noosa’s restaurants, cafes and custom built venues will again host a jaw-dropping range of themed events designed to tantalise the tastebuds, and Seahaven Noosa is at the heart of all the action! Many of the events will take place within easy walking distance of your Seahaven accommodation, at locations including the spectacular Main Beach, Hastings Street and Noosa River.
With a number of the events already sold out, it’s time to secure your tickets before you miss out!
Here are Seahaven Noosa’s top picks for this year’s festival.
A sub-continental voyage
Renowned Australian talents Peter Kuruvita and Adam D’Sylva will combine their skills and heritages when they meet for this gastronomical voyage. Fusing the flavours from their respective Sri Lankan and Indian influences, the result is sure to be a treat for all! The Subcontinental Voyage will take place at Noosa Beach House on Saturday, 20 May.
Lunch in the tipis
A sunny Sunday seafood lunch under the shade of the Main Beach tipis is an iconic Food and Wine Festival experience. Enjoy the indulgence as Jerry Mai takes over the kitchen and delivers and exquisite South East Asian feast. Lunch in the Tipis will be held on Noosa’s Main Beach on Sunday, 21 May.
Taste of the Hinterland
For a change of pace, why not take a tour of the local hinterland as you indulge in unique cuisine, organic produce and local brews. Taste of the Hinterland will depart from the Noosa Transit Centre on Friday, 19 May and welcome guests to take in the scenery while learning about the talents of local farmers, brewers and chefs.
If you are seeking to treat your mind as well as your mouth, the Noosa Food and Wine Festival will offer a number of events that are as educational as they are delicious! Prestigious Vinde Champagne award winner Bernadette O’Shea will host a champagne masterclass on Sunday, 21 May at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort River Lounge on Saturday, 20 May … enlightening attendees with an array of facts including how and why the food we eat changes the taste of champagne. If spirits are more to your taste, join ‘Cocktail Seb’ Reaburn for an intimate masterclass that will see you make and sample some of the finest gin cocktails imaginable. The Gin Cocktail Masterclass will take place at the Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort River Lounge on Saturday, 20 May.
A seafaring adventure
Lush Noosa hotspot Locale will host a seafood extravaganza on Sunday, 21 May, when resident chef Andy Davies teams up with guests Ben Williamson and Paul West alongside some of the nation’s best fisherman and oyster shuckers! Watch the talented creatives in their element and listen to their tales as you sip on some of the nation’s finest wines and feast on seafood served fresh from raw bars, fire pits and wood ovens.
French Saloon on the Beach
In our opinion, the ultimate 2017 festival indulgence is an evening beneath the stars feasting on Ian Curley’s culinary delights! The British born Australian resident is set to bring his classic “keep it honest, simple and flavoursome” approach to the sandy shores of Main Beach. Set in spectacular marquee surrounds beneath a shimmering night sky, this is bound to be a night to remember! French Saloon at the Beach will be held on Sunday, 21 May on Noosa Main Beach.
