Top 7 things to do on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland

Noosa has it all – sun, sand, amazing restaurants, great coffee, shopping, bushwalks… But just 45 minutes outside of Noosa and our very own Hastings Street is the Sunshine Coast Hinterland offering a wealth of unique experiences. These are our top seven unique and special things to do on the Sunshine Coast Hinterland while staying at Seahaven.

Shopping in Montville

This picturesque township in the hinterland offers a magical main street with unique shops such as a traditional clock shop, art galleries, handicrafts, jewellery and lots of handmade items.

Spa Day

Two of our favourite spas in the hinterland are Spa Anise at Spicers Sangoma retreat, and Maleny Beauty Rooms. Stocking local vegan beauty brand Mukti, Maleny Beauty Rooms are certified organic and offer a range of relaxing treatments and facials. Spa Anise is nestled in the Australian Bush and offers a peaceful and serene escape as you relax in between sessions.

Baxter Falls

Just outside Montville is this stunning 6.2km trail complete with suspension bridge over Baxter Creek. The walk starts at Flaxton Mill Road car park and winds its way Baxter Creek and the waterfall. This hinterland escape will take up most of a day, and you can stop in one of the many cafes to fuel up afterwards!

Fried Mudd

Why not get creative and attend a half-day pottery workshop in the hinterland at Fried Mudd with Cathy Lawley. Learn how to make your own bowl or mug on the potters wheel, and create a masterpiece to take home and remember your time on the coast.

Maleny Golf Club

Fancy a day outdoors relaxing and keeping active? A round of golf at Maleny Golf Club ticks all those boxes! The award-winning, 12-hole course welcomes visitors and families, and boasts a practice area and pro to get you kitted out with all you will need.

Amamoor State Forest

A pristine and scenic spot to connect with nature, Amamoor State Forest offers a number of walks through riverine rainforest boasting Hoop Pine, Red Cedars, Fig Trees and trickling creeks and streams. With more than 120 bird species and a platypus viewing platform where you might get lucky and see a platypus or two.

Kandanga Kitchen

Enjoy one of the hinterland’s best restuarants, with the entire menu made only from food sourced within 100km of the venue. Kandanga Kitchen is a short drive from Noosa and uses seasonal, chemical free produce from within the local area. Its menu has to be experienced, with many of the farms close by and open for visitors.
