When visiting Noosa, we are big advocates for strolls down Hastings Street, daily beach visits and cocktails by the pool. But when you’ve made the long journey, we’d highly recommend stepping outside Noosa to explore all that the wider Sunshine Coast region has to offer. We’ve created a list of our favourite day trips from Noosa, so that you can leave Noosa knowing you’ve made the most of your trip.

  1. Noosa Everglades

Enter a world where time stands still, and peace and tranquillity are abundant. The Noosa Everglades are one of two everglades’ systems in the world, making them a popular day trip when visiting Noosa. Whether it’s a stroll through the trails, a kayak on the water or a glass of champagne on a boat cruise, one thing for certain is that you’ll be met with sights like never before.

  1. K’gari

The world’s largest sand island ‘K’gari’ (formerly Fraser Island) boasts breathtaking natural beauty, with a diverse range of terrain to explore. True paradise awaits with crystal-clear lakes, soft, golden sand, and an array of exciting wildlife to look out for.  Make the most of the trip and check out the Maheno Shipwreck, about 1.5 hours north of Hook Point.

  1. Hinterland escape

If you need a break from the sun or the rain changes your plans, escape to the hinterland to chase waterfalls and soak in the fresh air. When seeking a hinterland adventure, the Kondalilla National Park is a great option. With mesmerizing waterholes and picnic areas waiting for you, the Kondalilla walking tracks are the ultimate nature experience. After exploring the hinterland, pay a visit to the nearby town of Montville, where galleries, shops and fudge tastings eagerly await.

  1. Eumundi Markets

Only a short drive from Hastings St in the historic town of Eumundi lies the Eumundi Markets. With a bustling market atmosphere, live music and lavish food, the Eumundi Markets are a must when exploring the Sunshine Coast. Pick up some local cheese, wine, and snacks, and enjoy them at Noosa Main beach or while lounging by the pool.

  1. Mooloolaba Spit

If you’re eager to take the 30-minute drive south, you won’t be disappointed. The Mooloolaba Spit is home to turquoise water, al fresco dining and a charming display of yachts. Have a drink by the water as the sun sets, then pop over to the well-renowned restaurant ‘Rice Boi’, where you’ll be surrounded by bao, ramen, curries and edamame!

With activities to suit everyone, the Sunshine Coast’s offerings are unmatched.

From nature escapes to market scenes, Noosa’s location means you can explore the very best of the Sunshine Coast all in a day’s adventure.
